January is a time to be basking in the sun of a south sea island. The next best thing is a sizzling sale on batiks. We need to make room for more that are arriving soon, so all batiks are on sale 10% off, now through January 27. Over 200 to choose from with regular prices starting as low as $6.20 (that's only $5.58 on sale!) Super Sew-In
On Sunday February 4th, noon until 8:00pm, we're having a pot luck sew-in. Bring your project, tools, sewing machine (if needed), and a finger food to share. Cost is $5.00, and there is a limit of 20 people. This is filling up fast, call to sign up and reserve your place. Children's Classes with Rhoda
Galpern
Designed for elementary school aged children, Rhonda is offering classes for kids. Come make postcards, pillows, scarves, or tote bags. Each is just $15 and includes a pizza dinner. Our classroom has a limited number of sewing machines designed with kids in mind, or your child can bring his or her own. Rhonda is known for her work with the NEQM and in area schools. Upcoming Mill Girl Quilts Challenge
$150 in Gift Certificates will be awarded as prizes. The next Mill Girl Quilts challenge is to construct an art quilt that contains some kind of embellishment, such as threads, buttons, fabric, crystals, beads, thread painting, etc. The quilt can be no larger than 45 inches in any dimension. The quilts are due by Saturday April 21st and will be judged by Mill Girl customers through the month of May. First prize is a $75 gift certificate, second prize is a $50 gift certificate, and third prize is a $25 gift certificate.
