“Best of Show” by Linda Hibbert of Loveland, Colorado began when a Boxer Rescue group in Texas wanted to make a raffle quilt. Nearly 5 years later, and many, many ÔdoggyÕ friends later, “Best of Show” was completed with representation for every AKC breed. Linda, a talented, animal loving, award winning, quilt artist who has designed all of the patterns as well as the ÔsetÕ for the panels.
Each panel of “Best of Show” depicts a Group, the designation the AKC makes for classifying dogs. Groups represent a general temperament and purpose of 16 to 27 breeds of dogs with the ÔsetÕ of each panel developed with the general group classification in mind.
By exhibiting her “Best of Show” quilt, Linda hopes to inspire other dog loving quilters to create a quilt for their best friend Ð perhaps as a memorial to a loving companion, but more specifically, a raffle quilt for Rescue Organizations to relocate deserving and loving dogs to more suitable homes or to generate money for health issues research.
